They were Verti-drained; a lot of Grass Seed was 'drill seeded' and Fertiliser was spread. However with a couple of days, as we all know, we had sun, sun, sun for weeks with not a drop of rain, so the ground got drier and drier, harder and harder. With time running out to the new season start, we eventually got the rain we wanted and within a week to ten days, the new grass started to grow and the fertiliser kicked in big time. The pitches have been transformed by the new growth, although they are still quite firm as of today. Hopefully all that work will be beneficial as the winter sets in.
